Description For API Management Engineer

Google Cloud Platform is seeking an API Management Engineer to help customers transform their businesses using Google's technology. As part of the role, you will:

  • Guide customers through Apigee product implementation
  • Serve as the primary source of expertise on Apigee products
  • Work closely with customers on API programs and produce design specifications
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for on-premises and multi/hybrid cloud-based Apigee solutions
  • Collaborate with global Apigee teams to drive innovation in API Management
  • Create and deliver best practices, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations
  • Travel up to 30% of the time depending on the region

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API architecture, implementation, and security, with experience in various technologies such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and API management solutions like Apigee. Requirements For API Management Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in software engineering
  • 5 years of experience in architecting and implementing APIs and integration technologies in distributed enterprise environments
  • Experience with API Gateway/Management with Apigee or other API management solutions
  • Knowledge of technologies like REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, OpenAPI, Python, Java, JavaScript, Cassandra, Kubernetes
  • Experience in implementing API Security and Threat Modeling using SAML Assertion, OAuth 2.0, etc. (preferred)
  • Experience with PHP and Drupal scripting/development (preferred)
  • Expertise in cloud design considerations, including virtualization, containerization, serverless architecture, and distributed systems (preferred)
  • Familiarity with multi/hybrid cloud through Anthos or similar container management platforms (preferred)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
