Description For Customer Engineer, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer to support their cloud computing services. In this role, you will work closely with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to customers, explaining technical features and solving potential roadblocks. You'll be responsible for supporting local teams in pursuing key business opportunities, engaging customers to address aspects of the data life-cycle, and identifying business and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting full technical discovery and architecting client solutions
  • Leading technical projects, including technology advocacy and proof-of-concept work
  • Demonstrating and prototyping integrations in customer/partner environments
  • Preparing and delivering product messaging to highlight Google Cloud Platform's value proposition

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with 10 years of experience in cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be engaging with technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer, Google Cloud

  • Support local teams in pursuit of key business opportunities, engage customers to address aspects of the data life-cycle
  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements
  • Take responsibility for leading technical projects, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments, and travel as needed for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition, using techniques that include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents

Requirements For Customer Engineer, Google Cloud

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region
