Google is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager for their Global Server Operations team in Eemshaven, Netherlands. This role is part of the Hardware Operations team, responsible for monitoring and managing Google's state-of-the-art physical infrastructure.
As a Data Center Operations Manager, you will lead one or more teams to deliver critical data center initiatives, such as data security, machine maintenance, and networking. You'll identify trends through data analytics at the project level and drive necessary changes to improve tools, processes, and procedures. You'll be the point of contact for escalations for one or more data center sites, quantifying systemic issues and escalating when appropriate.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day management of data center operations teams, communicating priorities, facilitating shift hand-offs, and working collaboratively to resolve problems related to global computing and network architecture. You'll also manage project implementations and ensure data center priorities align with company objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure or related areas, and 5 years of experience managing technical teams. Fluency in both English and Dutch is required to support client relationship management in the region. Experience in data center environments, strategic initiative execution, and a willingness to travel up to 30% of the time are preferred.
