Description For Data Scientist, gTech Ads Solutions

Google's gTech Ads Solutions team is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Measurement Centre of Excellence. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on building data science and measurement solutions for Large Customer Sales (LCS) clients, agencies, and internal teams. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies.

The role sits within gTech Ads, which manages support and technical services across Google's entire Ad products stack. The team helps customers maximize their return on investment through Google's advertising and publisher products, providing everything from self-help solutions to complex technical implementations.

As a Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for applying advanced ML capabilities, including Computer Vision and NLP, to solve marketing analytics challenges. You'll work directly with Google's largest advertising customers, developing and scaling data science solutions that drive business value. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

  • Lead data science aspects of client engagements in the area of marketing portfolio management
  • Collaborate with customers to solve their problems and identify the best statistical techniques
  • Engage important stakeholders to assess data and model readiness
  • Work with customer and internal teams to translate data and model results into tactical and strategic insights
  • Collaborate with Product/Engineering teams to increase and optimize capabilities of the Applied Data Science team

Requirements For Data Scientist, gTech Ads Solutions

Python
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree
  • Experience delivering insights from ML to customers
  • Experience using or deploying digital analytics and measurement solutions
  • Experience leveraging data insights into storytelling for business stakeholders
  • Experience in Computer Vision and NLP in the context of marketing analytics
  • Knowledge of the statistical algorithms used in Marketing Analytics
