Description For Facility Operations Manager, Data Center Operations

Google's Data Center team is seeking a Facility Operations Manager to join their world-class infrastructure team. This role is crucial in managing and operating some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems globally. The position involves overseeing facility operations, including heating and cooling systems, power supply, generators, UPS systems, and electrical distribution.

As a Facility Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for developing creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency. You'll ensure environmental and safety standards are consistently met and manage performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time from failures. The role requires strong leadership skills as you'll be working with various teams and managing facility technicians.

Responsibilities For Facility Operations Manager, Data Center Operations

  • Plan and execute campus operational budgets, expense forecasting, and manage established budgets
  • Set strategy and plan deployments across multiple sites
  • Lead efforts to integrate Google-wide strategy and execution with internal and external business partners
  • Create strategy for cost effective operations, focused on total cost of ownership
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation in approaching traditional data center and emergent problems

Requirements For Facility Operations Manager, Data Center Operations

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience as a Facilities Manager or Chief Engineer within a critical facility
  • Experience managing a mission critical facilities portfolio
  • Experience in critical facilities management including facility, technical, and team management
