Google is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join their Global Manufacturing Engineering team for Google Cloud. This role combines hardware engineering expertise with software development skills to ensure the quality and efficiency of Google's cutting-edge products. The position involves working with custom silicon solutions and developing comprehensive test systems for manufacturing processes.

As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving test operations, collaborating with global manufacturing partners, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance product quality. The role requires a strong background in hardware engineering or test engineering, with specific experience in GPU, blade server, and networking products.

The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in the field, strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting, and the ability to work with both Linux and Windows environments. You'll be part of a diverse team that pushes boundaries and develops solutions that power Google's direct-to-consumer products.

  • Develop and deploy robust test solutions for cutting-edge products in collaboration with Google's global manufacturing partners
  • Maintain smooth test operations for sustaining products
  • Lead initiatives to optimize test processes, increase test coverage, and reduce costs
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing yield issues and field escapes
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for test processes and procedures

Requirements For Manufacturing Test Engineer, Global Manufacturing Engineering, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in Hardware Engineering or Test Engineering in manufacturing
  • Experience in driving improvement of test systems and processes to enhance efficiency and manufacturability
  • Experience in developing and integrating manufacturing test hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation
  • Experience in design or test of GPU, blade server, and networking products
  • Experience coding in Python, and Shell scripting, and familiarity with Linux or Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of test stations bring-up, incorporating proper validation methodology
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues collaboratively
  • Ability to generate comprehensive test plans
  • Ability to apply new technologies to enhance manufacturing tests
