Google's Pixel team is seeking a Partner Engineer to join their mission of designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. This role focuses on managing carrier certification processes for Pixel products, requiring expertise in cellular technologies and program management. The position involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely certification and testing reports delivery, while collaborating with development teams for troubleshooting and issue resolution.

As a Partner Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of carrier Type Approval processes, leading multi-disciplinary projects, and working closely with Android and software teams. The role requires strong technical knowledge of cellular radio technologies, including 5G, LTE, and various cellular features, combined with excellent project management skills.

Responsibilities For Partner Engineer, Pixel

  • Manage all aspects of the carrier Type Approval (TA) process including carrier requirements delivery, sample management, certification schedule, and packaging requirements, for Pixel products
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Collaborate with Android and software teams to triage and prioritize Carrier-related issues
  • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners of the company
  • Collaborate with other carrier program managers in the team on program updates and represent in product meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with the launch team to optimize the On-shelf date for the product

Requirements For Partner Engineer, Pixel

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • Experience managing carrier certification of smartphones and connected wearable devices including scheduling, testing, or execution
  • Knowledge of carrier certification processes for Global carriers
