Description For Product Quality Engineering Manager

Google is seeking a Product Quality Engineering Manager to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing the quality assurance of Google's powerful computing infrastructure. The position requires deep expertise in manufacturing and quality engineering, with responsibilities spanning from team leadership to technical review of products and processes.

The role is integral to Google's infrastructure development, working directly with one of the largest computing infrastructures globally. You'll be responsible for evaluating product designs, creating processes, and ensuring manufacturing quality control. The position involves close collaboration with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to meet Google's infrastructure needs and product specifications.

As a manager, you'll lead a Product Quality Engineering team, focusing on product and process qualification while working with various stakeholders including Design, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Manufacturing Partners. The role requires strong technical skills in risk analysis and management, along with the ability to ensure adherence to industry requirements and Google's quality standards.

The position offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $159,000-$239,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The ideal candidate will bring 10 years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering, strong people management skills, and preferably experience in server or compute segments. Responsibilities For Product Quality Engineering Manager

  • Manage a Product Quality Engineering team, develop the team, and collaborate with the Design, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Partners
  • Perform Risk Analysis/Management, and technical review of products and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide specification reviews, product qualifications, multi-source qualifications, and manufacturing partner quality management

Requirements For Product Quality Engineering Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic, mechanical, materials engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing, electronics, or quality engineering
  • 8 years of experience in people management
  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with using query database and doing data analysis in SQL
  • Understanding of electronic component materials, manufacturing processes
  • Experience working for a company specializing in server or compute segments
