Google's Technical Infrastructure (TI) organization is seeking a Program Manager II to join their Global Manufacturing Operations team. This role is crucial in managing and optimizing the manufacturing production of servers, machine learning, and networking equipment for Google's data centers. The position requires a blend of program management and supply chain expertise, with a focus on material readiness and product transitions.
The role offers an opportunity to work with Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the backbone of Google's operations. You'll be part of the Product Manufacturing and Build Management (PMBM) team, working directly with contract manufacturers, planning teams, and commodity managers to ensure smooth production and delivery of critical infrastructure components.
As a Program Manager II, you'll be responsible for driving material readiness for mass production, managing product transitions, and identifying supply chain risks. The role requires strong communication skills, as you'll be working with cross-functional teams across different time zones and locations. You'll also be instrumental in developing processes to enable on-time delivery in supply and labor-constrained environments.
The position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $117,000-$172,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Program Manager II, Materials and Build Management, Global Manufacturing Operations
- Drive material readiness for mass production builds through collaboration with contract manufacturers (CM), planning teams, and commodity managers
- Ensure smooth product transitions and be the primary material liaison with Planning, New Product Introduction (NPI), and CM for product bring up and launch
- Identify supply chain risks and mitigation steps to ensure material readiness
- Communicate status, risks, and influence change
- Drive initiatives and process improvements to help the team to become more scalable
- Develop processes to enable on-time delivery and mitigation across multiple Contract Manufacturers
- Manage projects from inception through completion
Requirements For Program Manager II, Materials and Build Management, Global Manufacturing Operations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience in program or project management
- Experience in Supply Chain or materials management with contract manufacturers
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects (preferred)
- Experience bringing new products to market (preferred)
- Experience in supply chain management (preferred)
- Excellent investigative skills and ability to work with diverse data sources (preferred)
