Google's Finance Data and Analytics (DnA) team is seeking a Senior Business Data Scientist to join their dynamic organization. This role combines business acumen, technology, and innovation to drive data-driven decision-making across Google's various business units including Ads, YouTube, Search, and Play.

As a Quantitative Analyst, you'll be responsible for analyzing large datasets and building expert systems to enhance web understanding and product performance. You'll work with a growing team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, tackling strategic business challenges through the lens of business generation.

The role requires expertise in statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning, with a focus on time series data analysis. You'll collaborate closely with Finance leadership, Machine Learning Scientists, and Engineers to develop and improve models, create data products, and enable informed decision-making.

Key aspects of the role include partnering with stakeholders to understand business context, improving machine learning model usability, developing robust analytic frameworks, and contributing to a culture of learning and knowledge sharing. Responsibilities For Senior Business Data Scientist, Finance

  • Partner with Finance leadership and their teams to understand business context, ideate, and deliver insights and prototypes
  • Work with Machine Learning Scientists and Engineers to improve usability of the Machine Learning models through the design of appropriate metrics
  • Collaborate with Machine Learning Scientists to develop and improve models
  • Provide analyses through advanced analytics/statistical methods that tell a story focused on business insights
  • Develop reusable and robust analytic frameworks to ensure consistent results across business areas

Requirements For Senior Business Data Scientist, Finance

Python
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in a Data Analyst or Data Science role
  • Experience with statistical softwares (e.g., Python), database languages (e.g., SQL), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Experience in data analysis for time series data
  • Experience in stakeholder-facing or client-facing roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
