Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineering Manager, AI Studio
- Define and execute the technical direction for the AI Studio and Gemini API team
- Lead strategic planning, road-mapping, and prioritization of key initiatives
- Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of software engineers
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of robust and scalable AI software systems
- Ensure adherence to best practices, code quality, and security standards
- Partner with product managers, Technical Program Managers (TPMs), researchers, and engineers across Google
- Guide the team in exploring and adopting new technologies, tools, and methodologies
Requirements For Senior Software Engineering Manager, AI Studio
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
- 5 years of experience in people management, supervision/team leadership role
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (preferred)
- 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization (preferred)
- Experience in integrating text Large Language Model (LLM), multimodal LLMs, and other machine learning models (preferred)
