Description For Silicon Physical Design Engineer

Google is seeking a Silicon Physical Design Engineer to join their diverse team focused on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. This role combines Google's expertise in AI, Software, and Hardware to create innovative experiences. As a Physical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for implementing complex physical partitions/subsystems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize power performance areas, and managing block-level physical implementation for critical sensor IPs. The position requires strong expertise in physical design methodology, tool automation, and scripting capabilities.

Responsibilities For Silicon Physical Design Engineer

  • Own and Deliver synthesis to Graphic Data Stream (GDS) implementation of complex physical partitions/subsystems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve Power Performance Areas (PPAS) in physical design
  • Manage block level physical implementation and Quality of Results (QoR) on critical sensor IPs

Requirements For Silicon Physical Design Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience with physical design methodology and flow validation/development methodology
  • Experience in floor planning and physical design tool automation with Place and Route (PnR) tools and scripting in Tcl/Perl/Shell/Python
  • Knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog (preferred)
  • Understanding of circuit design, device physics and deep submicron technology (preferred)
  • Understanding of algorithms and data structures (preferred)
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with emphasis on computer architecture (preferred)
