Google's Core team is seeking a Software Engineer Manager II to lead their Security/Privacy initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring 8 years of software development experience and 3 years of leadership experience. The position is based in São Paulo, Brazil, and involves managing multiple teams working on Google's technical foundation.

As a Software Engineering Manager in the Core team, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. You'll oversee the development of security and privacy systems, manage strategic projects, and lead teams across multiple locations. The role requires expertise in programming languages like Python, C, C++, Java, and JavaScript, along with strong leadership capabilities.

The Core team plays a crucial role in creating the essential building blocks that drive innovation across Google.   • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience with data privacy or security systems (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization (preferred)
