Description For Software Engineering Manager, Full Stack

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for their Core team to lead full-stack development initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on building AI-powered security solutions and infrastructure. The position requires extensive experience in both backend and frontend development, with a strong emphasis on security and AI/ML integration.

The Core team at Google is responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, including developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. This team plays a crucial role in determining the technical direction across the company and breaking down technical barriers.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll lead projects critical to Google's security infrastructure, specifically focusing on AI-powered security features and proactive threat detection. You'll be responsible for managing and developing a team while also contributing to technical solutions across the full stack. The role requires expertise in languages like Python, Java, Go, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with at least 8 years of software development experience and 5 years of full-stack development experience. Leadership experience is crucial, with at least 3 years in technical leadership and 2 years in people management. Experience with AI/ML products and security systems is highly valued.
