Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead their new Managed Kafka team focused on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring expertise in distributed systems and Apache Kafka. The position involves building and leading a new team in Warsaw, focusing on expanding Kafka services beyond public cloud into critical environments.

Responsibilities For Software Engineering Manager, Managed Kafka On GDC

  • Help form a new team in Warsaw which will build and support Managed Kafka on GDC
  • Lead and mentor this new team, providing technical guidance, and career development opportunities
  • Manage the execution of projects from design to deployment
  • Collaborate with Managed Kafka team leads and stakeholders to define product roadmaps
  • Create a team charter, and ensure the newly formed team is healthy and productive
