Staff Software Engineer, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their team in Kraków, Poland. This role is critical in developing next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, data structures/algorithms, and experience in technical leadership.

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google Cloud, you will:

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions

The role requires versatility and enthusiasm to tackle new problems across the full-stack as Google continues to push technology forward. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the fast-paced business grows and evolves.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience (Master's or PhD preferred)
• 8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role (preferred)
• Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations on cross-functional projects
