Description For Strategic Cloud Data Engineer

Google Cloud Platform is seeking a Strategic Cloud Data Engineer to join their team in driving customer success through cloud technology. This role combines technical expertise in data engineering with customer-facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will guide customers in their data journey on GCP, from ingestion to visualization, while working on critical migration and modernization projects.

The position requires strong technical skills in data processing, cloud technologies, and programming languages like Java and Python. You'll be working with cutting-edge big data technologies and cloud infrastructure, helping customers design and optimize their data processing systems. The role involves traveling to customer sites, delivering workshops, and working closely with Product Management teams to drive product excellence.

Responsibilities For Strategic Cloud Data Engineer

  • Interact with stakeholders to translate complex customer requirements into recommendations for appropriate solution architectures and advisory services
  • Engage with technical leads, and partners to lead high velocity migration and modernisation to GCP
  • Design, Migrate/Build and Operationalise data storage and processing infrastructure using Cloud native products
  • Develop and implement data quality and governance procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data
  • Take various project requirements and organize them into clear goals and objectives, and create a work breakdown structure to manage internal and external stakeholders

Requirements For Strategic Cloud Data Engineer

Java
Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in developing and troubleshooting data processing algorithms
  • Experience coding with programming languages (Java, Python) and Bigdata technologies like Scala, Spark and hadoop frameworks
  • Experience with one public cloud provider, such as GCP
