Description For Strategy Manager, Play and Developer, Regulatory Strategy

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google's functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines. Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications.

The Android and Play Strategy team develops strategies that assure Android and Play platforms grow in a dynamic world with evolving regulatory systems. In this role, you will be working on high profile initiatives and helping leadership answer the regulatory strategy questions defining how Play and our ecosystems evolve. You will use your tactical and operational acumen to develop product and business plans for Play and our developer community that help to navigate existing and emerging regulatory frameworks (e.g., competition, privacy, artificial intelligence and sustainability). You will take ownership and support key projects that set business directions for users and platforms in the context of evolving regulatory landscapes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead key projects and develop internal consensus among executive level stakeholders from different product and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop informative metrics and leverage them to quantify the impact of critical executive decisions related to regulatory strategies.
  • Illuminate the impact of proposed strategies on user experience, value drivers (e.g., safety and security), financial performance, resource commitments, and Google's priorities.
  • Work with policy and legal teams to assess the business impact of regulatory changes on our ecosystems for one or more geographic regions.
  • Develop internal resources to help the business make informed decisions about how to navigate key regulatory requirements and provide comparative assessments.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Google's Android and Play platforms in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
