Description For System Development Engineer

Google is seeking a System Development Engineer to join their Systems Development Engineering (SDE) team. This role focuses on managing services and systems at scale, where you'll be responsible for automating processes and developing tools to solve complex problems. Responsibilities For System Development Engineer

  • Participate in on-call activities and manage the systems within the domain and work with the primary responders to help fix system issues
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate technical data, and develop recommendations for systems and services within the domain
  • Respond to tickets/bugs within team-defined service-level objectives (SLOs)
  • Work with customers on defining distributed systems requirements, testing procedures, and proposing solutions
  • Design, develop, and implement as needed
  • Maintain and update existing systems and codebase

Requirements For System Development Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with systems automation
  • 2 years of experience with technical infrastructure (e.g., deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting)
