Technical Program Manager, Data Discovery and Protection

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Data Discovery and Protection team to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. As part of the Core team, you'll be responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, working on essential building blocks that drive innovation across the company.

The role involves coordinating with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage project schedules while maintaining clear communication with cross-functional partners. You'll need to be equally comfortable explaining technical analyses to executives and discussing development tradeoffs with engineers.

The Core team has a unique mandate to impact important technical decisions across Google, building central solutions and breaking down technical barriers. Key responsibilities include managing high-complexity projects, fostering partnerships with leadership and engineering teams, and ensuring initiatives align with overall engineering and product priorities. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of software development experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous operations environment. Knowledge of software development life-cycle challenges and strong communication skills are essential.
