Description For Developer Advocate

Grafana Labs, the company behind the popular open-source visualization tool used by over 20M users globally, is seeking a Developer Advocate to join their R&D organization. This role represents a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and community building in the observability space.

The position is deeply rooted in Grafana's open-source DNA, requiring someone who can effectively bridge the gap between the technical community and the product team. As a Developer Advocate, you'll be responsible for educating and empowering developers and SREs through various mediums, from technical content creation to public speaking engagements.

The role demands a strong technical background, whether in software development, SRE, or systems operations, combined with excellent communication skills. You'll be working with an all-remote team of advocates and community support engineers, reporting to the Director of Developer Advocacy. The position involves approximately 30% travel, allowing for in-person community engagement while maintaining a remote work lifestyle.

Success in this role means making users successful through education, community building, and technical enablement. You'll be working with cutting-edge observability tools and technologies, including the Grafana LGTM Stack, which is used by major companies like Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from CAD 153,729 to CAD 184,475, plus equity and additional benefits. The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse, global team while contributing to one of the most widely-used observability platforms in the world. Experience with cloud platforms, open-source communities, and observability tools is highly valued but not required, as Grafana Labs is committed to helping you develop these skills.
