Description For Staff Security Researcher/Engineer

Intuit, a leading global financial technology platform serving approximately 100 million customers worldwide through products like TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, is seeking a Staff Security Researcher/Engineer to join their fraud prevention team.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a specialized team that's revolutionizing fraud detection and prevention at Intuit. The role combines security expertise with engineering skills to proactively identify and address fraud vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by malicious actors. You'll be working to protect millions of customers and their financial data across Intuit's extensive product ecosystem.

As a Staff Security Researcher/Engineer, you'll approach products from an adversarial perspective, thinking like potential attackers to uncover vulnerabilities. Your responsibilities will include both manual and automated testing, developing scripts to simulate various fraud scenarios, and creating tools to enhance the team's effectiveness. You'll work closely with multiple teams including policy, data science, product, and R&D to ensure comprehensive fraud prevention.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of software engineering or security research experience, with strong knowledge of security tools like Burpsuite and testing frameworks. Experience with Java, JavaScript, and web technologies is valuable, as is familiarity with e-commerce and payment systems. Beyond technical skills, you'll need to be a creative problem solver, excellent communicator, and collaborative team player who can work independently and influence across organizations.

This role offers competitive compensation ($181,500-$245,000 base salary) plus bonus and equity opportunities. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you'll be part of a company committed to fostering innovation and helping people prosper. If you're passionate about security, fraud prevention, and using your skills to protect millions of users while working with cutting-edge financial technology, this role presents an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.
