Description For Data Engineer

Joint Academy is a global leader in digital treatment for chronic joint pain, revolutionizing healthcare through data-driven solutions. As a Data Engineer, you'll join our mission to improve the lives of people with chronic joint pain by working on critical data infrastructure.

We're transitioning from a Rails monolith to a Go-based microservices platform and shifting to an ELT approach using dbt and columnar databases. You'll be part of our small but impactful Data Team, which is currently a one-person team, working on medical insights, business intelligence, UX support, and data science/AI initiatives.

The role focuses on building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers analytics, BI, and machine learning solutions. You'll work with large datasets to unlock insights for clinical research and shape the future of osteoarthritis treatment. You'll collaborate with world-leading researchers, clinicians, and innovators while working on complex technical challenges.

Joint Academy operates across three markets and two continents, implementing a hybrid business model with physical clinics and digital treatment programs. The company's core offering is scientifically founded digital treatment programs for joint pain, connecting patients with licensed physical therapists through individualized exercises, interactive education, and tracking tools.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, curious engineer who loves solving complex problems and wants to make a real difference in healthcare. You'll work in a challenging, fast-moving environment where individual contributions matter, alongside a unique mix of academic scientists, medical professionals, and experienced product developers.
