Marshalls PLC, a prestigious UK manufacturer founded in 1890, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join their Design and Engineering Team. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on Pavement Engineering solutions. The position offers a unique blend of engineering and sales, where you'll work remotely while covering the South of England.

The role involves providing specialized engineering and design solutions, working closely with external sales teams, and becoming the technical design authority for various stakeholders. You'll interact with landscape architects, consultant engineers, contractor design teams, local authorities, and housing developers, building valuable relationships across the industry.

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating technical proposals, delivering CPD presentations, and supporting on-site issue resolution. The role requires a balance of technical knowledge and communication skills, with opportunities to influence product development and design methodology.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering background or relevant qualifications, with experience in Technical Sales. You'll need strong stakeholder management skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to work autonomously. Responsibilities For Technical Sales Engineer

  • Provide engineering and design solutions in Pavement Engineering
  • Work with external sales teams as technical design advisor
  • Deliver technical information to customers and stakeholders
  • Create technical proposals

  • Support development of new products, systems and design methodology

Requirements For Technical Sales Engineer

  • Civil Engineering related degree or working towards relevant professional qualification
  • Understanding of construction standards (DMRB, specification for highway works, BS 7533 Design Standards, SuDS design manuals)
  • Experience in Technical Sales role
  • Full driving license
  • Ability to travel throughout the South of England
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Commercial thinking and influence skills
  • Time management and proactive work style
