Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environments Field Service Engineer (CE FSE) to join their team in Osaka, Japan. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
As a CE FSE, you will:
- Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability in leased Datacenters
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Reduce high-impact and human-error CE incidents
- Deliver on cost/energy efficiency initiatives
- Support Datacenter's Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
- Conduct CE audits and compliance verification
- Manage and analyze Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity and SLA monitoring
- Establish strong relationships with Engineering Groups and Landlord partners
- Share and build best practices across the entire datacenter portfolio
The ideal candidate will have:
- Fluency in both Japanese and English for daily communication
- 3+ years of experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU)
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of industry experience in a datacenter or critical environment facility
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of datacenter operations, mechanical and electrical systems
