Description For Critical Environment Senior Mechanical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team responsible for powering Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure. This role is integral to maintaining and developing the company's vast network of over 200 datacenters across 32 countries, supporting services used by more than 1 billion customers worldwide.

Responsibilities For Critical Environment Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Provide make-versus-buy recommendations with tradeoffs analysis
  • Create robust, scalable, secure, and extensible designs for hardware engineering
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Write internal device specifications and develop technical drawings
  • Review and execute test plans for complex feature areas
  • Conduct complex data/statistical analysis
  • Generate and monitor project implementation schedules
  • Write customized reports and functional specifications
  • Document complex details about materials and components

Requirements For Critical Environment Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years experience
  • OR Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Ability to work 12 hours shifts, including non-standard business hours
  • Travel requirement: 0-25%
