As a Datacenter Project Manager (DCPM) at Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I), you'll play a key role in delivering core infrastructure for Microsoft's online services. Your primary focus will be on reducing stranded capacity by optimizing IT capacity deployment, working closely with Electrical Engineers and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers. You'll lead retrofit efforts to upgrade legacy datacenters and harvest capacity in the existing fleet, contributing to increased Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
- Manage programs associated with your area of responsibility
- Adhere to safety and security policies and procedures
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes
- Lead programs and projects through leadership forums, aligning scope, schedule, and cost with OKRs
- Perform troubleshooting for service incidents and escalate as appropriate
- Manage relationships with clients and suppliers
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across CO+I and engineering groups
- Provide mentorship across data centers for specific expertise
- Contribute to a positive team environment and cross-discipline collaborations
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND years of industry experience OR years of industry experience and college course work
- Experience in DataCenter Critical Field, especially in the Electrical Discipline or Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) and working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)
