Mural is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team, which is responsible for building tools and services that accelerate the software development life cycle. The role focuses on maintaining and evolving the development infrastructure that powers Mural's engineering operations.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of driving development efficiency across the organization. The position requires expertise in backend development, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation. You'll work with a large Typescript and NodeJS codebase, implementing and maintaining build systems, and collaborating with developers to optimize development workflows.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of relevant experience and deep knowledge of modern development tools and practices. You'll need strong skills in Linux, Docker, and CI tools, plus experience with API design and implementation. Knowledge of Kubernetes, Python, Golang, and cloud platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Platform
- Design, implement and maintain the build infrastructure for a large Typescript and NodeJS codebase
- Collaborate with software developers and platform engineers to define and refine the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes and its best practices
- Identify and address bottlenecks, performance issues, and opportunities for automation within the development pipeline
- Develop and maintain scalable platform features, ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of our software delivery processes
- Care deeply about the problems and needs of our customers, which are all the engineers in the organization, and on training and supporting them to better use the tools we build
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Platform
- 5+ years experience working on the backend, integrations or CI/CD pipelines of high-performing engineering team
- Experience building reusable components and libraries, with an understanding of scalable architecture
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on documenting solutions and providing clear technical guidance
- A strong sense of ownership over critical problem areas
- A thorough understanding of Linux, Docker and CI tools like Github Actions or similar
- Experience in designing, implementing and documenting API services
- A proactive, ownership-driven approach to troubleshooting and supporting critical technical areas
- Experience in making data-driven decisions
