Description For Senior GPU Architect, Profiling System

NVIDIA's GPU Architecture Group is seeking architects to contribute to the design of their proprietary profiler subsystem, which is embedded in every GPU to enable profiling and monitoring tools for performance optimization. As a Senior GPU Architect for the Profiling System, you'll combine skills in hardware modeling and verification with a deep understanding of GPU architecture, operating systems, and application performance analysis. You'll innovate new methods of hardware profiling for more meaningful performance insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and plan features with global software, hardware, and verification teams for next-generation GPU profiling.
  • Build functional and performance models to refine and verify hardware designs.
  • Create and contribute to test plans for validating designed features.
  • Continuously improve skills in application analysis, GPU architecture, and profiling software stack.

Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant computer architecture, ASIC design, and/or software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Solid foundation in computer architecture and hardware performance analysis.
  • Experience with performance modeling and hardware simulation, ideally using SystemC.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with distributed interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing and optimizing parallel algorithms, particularly using GPUs.
  • Extensive experience as a user or developer of CPU or GPU profiling tools.
  • Background in 3D graphics, deep learning, and/or high-performance computing applications.
  • Experience contributing to and debugging large codebases with many developers.
