Description For Senior Engineer, Authentication and Authorization

At Pleo, we're revolutionizing business spend management through our innovative platform that combines company cards with automated expense solutions. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Authentication & Authorization team, where you'll play a crucial role in building and evolving secure, scalable systems that handle authentication and authorization across our platform.

As part of a brand-new team, you'll be responsible for renewing our approach to identity, access, and trust as we scale our product. This is an exciting opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges while working with modern technologies like Kotlin, TypeScript, and Kubernetes in a cloud-native environment.

You'll collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Backend Core, and Security teams, contributing to the foundation of Pleo's security infrastructure. Your expertise in authentication standards (OAuth, OIDC) and experience with cloud platforms will be essential in designing robust solutions that balance security, performance, and developer experience.

We offer a competitive salary range (up to £86,500 in the UK or €92,500 in Spain/Portugal) and comprehensive benefits including private healthcare, mental health support, and generous holiday allowance. Our culture emphasizes work-life balance, and we support both hybrid and fully remote working options.

At Pleo, you'll join a diverse team of 850+ professionals from over 100 nations, working together to transform how businesses manage spending. We value transparency, collaboration, and innovation, reflected in our core values: champion the customer, succeed as a team, make it happen, and build to scale.

If you're passionate about solving complex authentication challenges, mentoring others, and contributing to a product that impacts thousands of businesses across Europe, this role offers the perfect blend of technical complexity and meaningful impact.
