Description For Camera SW Engineer, Sr.

The camera software team at Qualcomm Korea YH is seeking talented senior software engineers experienced in mobile and device software development. This role involves working on all layers of the camera software stack, from Android Camera HAL and/or Windows AVS/KMD/MFT Camera implementation to low-level hardware control.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing new features
  • Supporting new hardware
  • Debugging issues within the software
  • Optimizing software for performance and power
  • Developing unit tests
  • Collaborating with partners and OEMs

The successful candidate will work with 3A (auto exposure, auto focus, and auto white balance), image signal processors, camera sensors, and integrate with other technologies including motion sensors, video encoders, DSPs, GPU, and display.

Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or PhD in related field
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and embedded systems
  • Experience with camera software, particularly in areas such as Image Signal Processing, 3A, Image Quality, and Tuning Tools

Responsibilities For Camera SW Engineer, Sr.

  • Design, develop, debug, implement, and verify camera software (e.g., Camera Image Signal Processor, 3A, Image Quality, Tuning Tools, etc.), algorithms, and features
  • Design or architect IQ modules, algorithms, and feature decompositions to drive requirements and specifications for both hardware and software
  • Ensure image quality, software conformance tests, and performance and power metrics are met to deliver camera software to customers
  • Collaborate with customers and team members throughout project life cycle to design, develop, and optimize camera software
  • Write detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for Camera SW projects

Requirements For Camera SW Engineer, Sr.

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience
  • OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience
  • OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems knowledge
  • 2+ years of relevant camera software experience
