Description For Staff Engineer, PC Gaming Content Development

Qualcomm's in-house Game Studio is seeking an experienced Game Engineer to develop high end games, and gaming technology showcases for Snapdragon based products. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge pre-commercial portable devices and contribute to the future of gaming in always-on, always-connected Snapdragon PCs.

The position is a multi-disciplinary role where you will be responsible for developing new gaming content and porting existing games from other platforms. Additionally, you will work to optimizing CPU, GPU, and the overall system performance of gaming content for Windows on Snapdragon. The role requires expertise in Unreal Engine.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • Expertise in C/C++
  • Expertise with Unreal Engine based Game development
  • Experience with Windows game development and optimization
  • Solid 3D graphics related mathematics background
  • Basic understanding of game profiling and optimizing is expected
  • Understanding of modern PC, and console game engine rendering pipelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing content with Unity 3D, or Unreal Engine
  • Familiarity with 3D graphics profilers and debuggers such as RenderDoc, Pix, NSight, etc…
  • Comfortable working with unfamiliar, large multi-million-line code bases
  • Experience optimizing applications for various gaming platforms
  • At least one shipped gaming title on any platform

Education Requirements: Required: A BS, MS, or PhD degree in an engineering or computer science related field.
