Description For Plastic Process Engineer

Qualdoc Staffing is seeking a skilled Plastic Process Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Culpeper, VA. This role focuses on developing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes in injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion. The position offers a competitive salary of $95,000 and requires a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing system and equipment procedures in manufacturing facilities. They will evaluate technical and economic factors while recommending engineering and manufacturing action plans to achieve better performance. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to deliver innovative solutions.

Key aspects of the role include safety leadership, process optimization, quality control, and team development. Responsibilities For Plastic Process Engineer

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain efficient manufacturing processes
  • Be a visible example of safety leadership on the shop floor
  • Oversee existing process and workflows
  • Analyze product or equipment specifications
  • Conduct testing and monitor process performance
  • Review BOMs and make necessary changes
  • Perform First Article Testing (FAT) for new tooling
  • Assist with new product launches
  • Track metrics for continuous improvement
  • Implement CI techniques like 6S, Lean Manufacturing, PDCA
  • Maintain daily scrap report
  • Troubleshoot process issues
  • Train, coach and motivate personnel

Requirements For Plastic Process Engineer

  • B.S. in Engineering or college degree with 5+ years working in plastic industry
  • 3+ years of experience in plastic industry (injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion)
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Ability to travel frequently between multiple plants
  • Experience working with material like ABS and Poly propylene is plus
  • Physical ability to bend, lift, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
