Job Description
SigNoz is an open-source observability platform helping developers monitor applications and troubleshoot problems quickly. With a global presence and a thriving open-source community, SigNoz is backed by YC and prominent Bay Area VCs. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll collaborate directly with customer engineering teams to design OpenTelemetry instrumentation strategies, customize dashboards, and optimize solutions for specific use cases. You will be creating custom integration guides, troubleshooting docs, and best practices documentation that engineering teams actually use. The role involves hands-on contributions to customer codebases, debugging instrumentation issues, and ensuring successful deployments. The role will require identifying patterns in customer deployments and work with the product teams to build better defaults, templates, and tooling.
The compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $180,000, with equity options and benefits like healthcare and 401K. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. Requirements
- Technical enough to design observability solutions
- Excellent at technical documentation
- Capable of hands-on implementation
- Product-minded
- 2-6 years experience in technical roles
- DevOps/Platform engineering background
- Containerization, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Strong programming skills
- Comfortable contributing to customer codebases in multiple languages (Go, Python, Node.js, Java)
- Excellent technical writing
- Can create clear, actionable documentation that engineers actually use
- Systems thinking
- Understand complex distributed architectures and design monitoring strategies that scale
