Description For Civil/Structural Engineer (Starship Production)

SpaceX, at the forefront of space exploration technology, is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join their Starship Production team. This role is crucial in the company's mission to enable human life on Mars through the development of next-generation vertical integration facilities.

The position offers an unique opportunity to work on unprecedented structural engineering challenges in the space industry. As a Civil/Structural Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of high-rise facilities that will support the production and refurbishment of Starship vehicles. These facilities are essential to SpaceX's ambitious goals of reaching the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

The role demands a combination of technical expertise in structural engineering and practical construction knowledge. You'll be involved in all phases of project development, from conceptual design to construction completion, working with cutting-edge technology and innovative approaches to structural engineering. The position requires someone who can think outside the box, as many of the structures being designed have few precedents in the industry.

Key aspects of the role include performing complex structural analyses, creating design drawings, managing construction contracts, and ensuring safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience with high-rise facility design and construction, along with knowledge of various engineering codes and standards.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $95,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. SpaceX offers comprehensive benefits including equity options, health coverage, and retirement plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a structural engineer who wants to be part of humanity's next giant leap into space exploration.

The position requires ITAR compliance and the ability to pass Air Force background checks, as well as willingness to travel to various SpaceX facilities. The company maintains a merit-based, inclusive work environment and is committed to equal opportunity employment.
