SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to join their Starship production team in Starbase, Texas. As an Operations Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and optimizing production processes for the Starship program. You'll work across multiple disciplines, from Production and Engineering to Quality and Supply Chain, ensuring seamless coordination and optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in production engineering or manufacturing, with a strong background in data analysis and process optimization. Technical skills in Python, SQL, and CAD programs are essential, as is experience with Lean principles and Six Sigma concepts. The role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle complex problems under tight deadlines, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

This is an in-person role based in Starbase, TX, requiring occasional travel to other SpaceX facilities. Responsibilities For Operations Engineer, Starship Production

  • Develop factory design plans including production line layouts and building requirements
  • Ownership of accurate floor layouts, capacity studies, and product flow analyses
  • Develop and manage production strategies to mitigate risks and improve quality
  • Define new business processes for high volume production
  • Act as subject matter expert in Starship production processes and systems
  • Coordinate work with internal teams and external contractors
  • Implement data acquisition and tracking for production metrics
  • Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output
  • Collaborate across disciplines including Production, Engineering, Test, and Quality
  • Contribute to solving complex problems under tight deadlines

Requirements For Operations Engineer, Starship Production

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, software, or other engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in production engineering or manufacturing
  • Experience with CAD programs
  • Competency with SQL databases
  • Understanding of Lean principles and Six Sigma concepts
  • Experience with Python applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience analyzing large datasets
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed
