Starshield leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology for government use, focusing on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. As a Security Software Engineer, you'll influence software security across product lines, working on highly reliable in-space mesh networks and secure systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building security infrastructure for Starshield
  • Developing security features for various systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites)
  • Designing security into factory processes
  • Maintaining and improving existing production systems
  • Building prototypes and identifying security improvements

The ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering, applied cryptography, network security, or related fields. Experience with languages like Python, C++, or Golang is required, as well as an active Top Secret clearance.

  • Develop security features for Starshield systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites)

  • Experience with software development languages (Python, C++, Golang)
  • Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure
  • Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee due to ITAR requirements
