As a Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing space access by developing critical satellite structures and mechanisms. You'll work with cutting-edge technology to design, analyze, and implement solutions for spacecraft systems, focusing on cost-effectiveness and reliability.

The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic thinking, requiring expertise in structural mechanics, thermal analysis, and spacecraft dynamics. You'll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of satellite components, from initial concept through orbital deployment. Working from our Long Beach headquarters, you'll collaborate with a talented team of engineers to solve complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities For Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer

  • Own the full lifecycle of critical satellite structures, mechanisms, and thermal management devices
  • Design for cost-effectiveness, reliability and robustness using CAD and programming tools
  • Perform finite element and thermal analyses
  • Develop methods for satellite placement within launch vehicle fairing
  • Solve complex engineering problems and implement creative solutions
  • Assemble, integrate, and test hardware
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering team
  • Generate drawings using GD&T best practices
  • Perform trade studies and cost estimation
  • Communicate technical concepts with stakeholders

Requirements For Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer

Python
  • 3+ years professional aerospace mechanical design/development experience
  • Skill in using software tools (MATLAB, Python, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials, dynamics
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly expand knowledge and skills
  • Must be US citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual (ITAR requirements)
