Description For Dell Data Protection Engineer
SWATX is seeking a Dell Data Protection Engineer for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires a seasoned professional with 5-6 years of experience in Dell Data Protection engineering, preferably with government experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Dell's Data Protection portfolio, including PowerProtect Data Manager, PowerProtect Data Domain, PowerProtect Cyber Recovery, and CyberSense.
Key responsibilities include managing backup activities, participating in incident management and root cause analysis, implementing change requests, and ensuring the smooth operation of data protection systems. The engineer will also be involved in capacity planning, technical documentation, and future initiative planning.
The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to analyze data for actionable insights. A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is required. Familiarity with various Dell technologies such as AVAMAR, DPC, and DPA is essential.

Responsibilities For Dell Data Protection Engineer
- Assist with incident and problem management activities
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews
- Monitor backup activity for the in-scope environment
- Perform routine backup policy changes
- Participate in planning, approval, and implementation of approved change management requests
- Participate in backup capacity measurement and planning
- Assist with detailed technical planning for future initiatives
- Update client operational procedures and documents
- Ensure all backups are properly run and completed on time
- Process restores within mutually agreed timeframes
- Document operational best practice processes and procedures related to the backup environment
Requirements For Dell Data Protection Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
- 5-6 years of experience as Dell Data Protection Engineer
- Very good knowledge of Dell Data Protection portfolio, Cyber Recovery, and CyberSense
- Experience with PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), PowerProtect Data Domain, PowerProtect Cyber Recovery, CyberSense, CRS, AVAMAR, DPC, and DPA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights
- Willing to work after hours and on weekends
