Responsibilities For Cell Thermal Modeling Engineer

  • Create cell thermal models to solve various engineering problems and design challenges
  • Provide guidance and support design and manufacturing teams based on modeling results
  • Perform advanced coupled multi-physics simulations
  • Advance the capabilities of Tesla's cell thermal modeling tools
  • Process thermal characterization test data
  • Develop code to support automated model validation
  • Conduct model-based analysis to guide cell design process
  • Produce concise management summaries and report-outs

Requirements For Cell Thermal Modeling Engineer

Python
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in numerical methods, optimization and numerical solutions of ODEs and PDEs
  • 3+ years of experience in developing physics-based thermal models
  • Intermediate skills in common CAE package (ANSYS-FLUENT, Star-CCM+, COMSOL)
  • Intermediate skills in common CAD package (SolidWorks, CATIA)
  • Strong Programming skills and 3+ years experience in MATLAB, Simulink, or Python
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Preference for working in fast-paced environment
  • First principles approach to problem solving
