Description For Engineering Technician, Semi Truck, Body Controllers

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician for Semi Truck Body Controllers to join their Low Voltage Hardware Validation Test team. This role involves supporting all aspects of testing, including electrical debugging, mechanical fixture design/building, and software validation/script modification for the Semi program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with engineers to validate body controllers through mechanical, electrical, and software/firmware testing
  • Designing, building, and dismantling static fixtures using various materials
  • Modifying and debugging software scripts for controller validation
  • Designing, building, debugging, and maintaining complex electrical server rack testers

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Soldering experience for PCBA board rework
  • Custom harness building experience
  • Ability to manage multiple test priorities and communicate effectively
  • Experience with environmental stress screening, highly accelerated life testing, and stress screening
  • Skills in operating and maintaining environmental chambers for various tests
  • Data analysis capabilities to identify trends and predict potential failures

  • Collaborate with engineers to implement design improvements based on reliability test results
