Tesla is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join their Test Systems Engineering team in Sunnyvale, California. This role focuses on maintaining and ensuring the reliability of lab infrastructure through installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of test equipment. The position requires expertise in HVAC & refrigeration systems, with a particular emphasis on test equipment utilizing refrigeration circuits.

The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of hands-on experience in maintaining environmental chambers, chillers, and related equipment in an industrial setting. They should possess strong technical troubleshooting abilities and excellent communication skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers. Responsibilities For Equipment Maintenance Technician, Test Systems Engineering

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of test equipment, workshop assets and facility infrastructure
  • Perform installation and commissioning of test equipment, workshop assets, and facility infrastructure
  • Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Interact with external contracted talent and service personnel
  • Support Ad Hoc work requests related to test and engineering efforts

Requirements For Equipment Maintenance Technician, Test Systems Engineering

  • Technical or trade school degree related to HVAC, refrigeration, environmental chambers
  • Minimum 1 year of repair and maintenance experience
  • Experience with environmental chambers, chillers, or refrigeration equipment
  • Hands-on technical experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures
  • Experience in pipe fitting and industrial plumbing
  • EPA 608 certification
