The Field Reliability Engineering team at Tesla is seeking a highly hands-on Field Reliability Engineer for Low Voltage systems. This role is crucial in improving customer experience by reducing field issues across all automotive products. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set, encompassing data analysis, failure analysis, and driving containment actions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring field performance of products and identifying improvement opportunities
- Contributing to continuous improvement efforts to enhance vehicle reliability
- Executing field investigations through data analysis and vehicle/component level debugging
- Identifying root causes using 1st principles and 5why methodology
- Driving containment and corrective action implementation
- Communicating field performance to engineering peers and leadership
The ideal candidate should have:
- 0-5+ years of hands-on experience in failure analysis, reliability, or related electro-mechanical systems
- Background in electronics or automotive with an electrical engineering focus
- Experience in debugging and testing electrical systems, including wire harnesses, components, ECUs, and embedded systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
- Proficiency in PCBA level troubleshooting and debugging
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python and UNIX
- Experience applying statistical methods in data analysis
- Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or similar fields (or equivalent experience)
