Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Dojo supercomputer team in Palo Alto. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Dojo
- Modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies including plastic, sheet metal, casting, coldplates, electrical distribution
- Conduct mechanical design analysis including thermal, structural, tolerance, and design for assembly
- Generate detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation using CATIA
- Collaborate with other engineers to take designs from prototype through production
- Participate in prototype and NPI builds, component fabrication, testing and validation
- Perform feasibility studies to evaluate design concepts
- Support development of engineering and reliability test plans
- Collaborate with suppliers to source parts and tool new designs
Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Dojo
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools and ANSYS
- Familiarity with PCBAs and electronics packaging
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
