Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Dojo supercomputer team in Palo Alto. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Dojo

  • Modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies including plastic, sheet metal, casting, coldplates, electrical distribution
  • Conduct mechanical design analysis including thermal, structural, tolerance, and design for assembly
  • Generate detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation using CATIA
  • Collaborate with other engineers to take designs from prototype through production
  • Participate in prototype and NPI builds, component fabrication, testing and validation
  • Perform feasibility studies to evaluate design concepts
  • Support development of engineering and reliability test plans
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source parts and tool new designs

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Dojo

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design
  • Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools and ANSYS
  • Familiarity with PCBAs and electronics packaging
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
