Tesla's Battery Electronics team is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development of high-voltage battery management PCBAs for their entire vehicle lineup and energy storage solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects including the Robotaxi, next-generation mass market platforms, Roadster, Semi, and Cybertruck. As a Sr. Staff Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for end-to-end PCBA design, from concept development through mass production. Responsibilities For Sr. Staff Electrical Design Engineer, Battery Electronics
- Design, prototype, build, and test high-voltage battery management electronics for Tesla vehicles and energy products
- Develop highly automated design validation setups and software to ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Launch designs to mass production
- Work with automotive IC manufacturers to co-develop and integrate new technologies into next-generation Tesla Battery Management Systems (BMS)
Requirements For Sr. Staff Electrical Design Engineer, Battery Electronics
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on industry experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Strong analytical, circuit analysis and simulation skills
- Superb failure analysis and PCBA troubleshooting skills
- Solid knowledge of Python for test automation and data analysis
- Experience in battery management systems, power electronics, microcontrollers and high-speed digital interfaces
- Experience designing RF circuits, antennas, and familiarity with wireless communication protocols
- Experience using Altium Designer and LTSpice
- Experience using mechanical CAD tools and 3D printing
