Responsibilities For Thermal Design Engineer, Energy Products

  • End-to-end ownership of the thermal system designs for Tesla Energy products
  • Component and system mechanical design ownership of compression cycles, coolant systems, and air flow systems
  • Build-to-print mechanical design component design ownership
  • Develop and execute component and subsystem design validation plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and specifications

Requirements For Thermal Design Engineer, Energy Products

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling, CATIA V5/6 a plus
  • Experience in designing for high volume assembly
  • Experience in structural analysis including structural FEA, vibration/dynamic analysis
  • Deep understanding of material science of components
  • Proficiency in GD&T and development of high-quality drawing packages
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in heat transfer, mechanics, and fluids
  • Familiarity with design for reliability/FMEA concepts
  • Experience defining test plans, designing test setups, and analyzing data
