Responsibilities For Thermal Design Engineer, Energy Products
- End-to-end ownership of the thermal system designs for Tesla Energy products
- Component and system mechanical design ownership of compression cycles, coolant systems, and air flow systems
- Build-to-print mechanical design component design ownership
- Develop and execute component and subsystem design validation plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and specifications
Requirements For Thermal Design Engineer, Energy Products
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in CAD modeling, CATIA V5/6 a plus
- Experience in designing for high volume assembly
- Experience in structural analysis including structural FEA, vibration/dynamic analysis
- Deep understanding of material science of components
- Proficiency in GD&T and development of high-quality drawing packages
- Strong engineering fundamentals in heat transfer, mechanics, and fluids
- Familiarity with design for reliability/FMEA concepts
- Experience defining test plans, designing test setups, and analyzing data
