Job Description
Warp is an automated back-office platform for startups, streamlining HR, payroll, and tax compliance using AI Agents. They've raised $24M from top investors and are looking for driven entrepreneurs to join their team in NYC. As a Backend Engineer, you will be directly responsible for developing new product features and payroll infrastructure that is fast and reliable. You'll focus on bulletproof products and well-written code while scaling rapidly.
Key responsibilities include building performant, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems for processing billions of dollars globally, scaling the platform 10x in the next year, and redesigning the tech stack. You'll collaborate with the CTO and CEO, requiring in-person work in their NYC office 4+ days per week. This is not a routine 9-5 job; you'll have high ownership and may need to work late to fix issues. The compensation range is $140K - $230K, with equity options ranging from 0.15-0.25%. Benefits include visa sponsorship and the opportunity to work with a top-tier team.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- 1 - 6 years of experience as a backend engineer in the fintech and payments space
- Be willing to live in New York City and be able to work regularly out of our office
- H1B transfers (or equivalent) welcome but not net new
- In-person 4+ days per week in NYC
