Zeeco is seeking an Applications Engineer for their Burner Division – Power Burners team in Plainville, CT. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on power burner products and technical requirements. The position involves comprehensive proposal management and requires deep knowledge of Zeeco products.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing customer specifications, designing appropriate equipment solutions, and managing the entire proposal process from initial inquiry to final negotiation. This includes conducting site visits, performing technical assessments, developing cost estimates, and maintaining customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Responsibilities For Applications Engineer
- Analyzes and interprets customer inquiries, including specifications, to design and specify appropriate equipment
- Travels to customer's facilities for site support and technical review
- Assists with technical development and risk assessment of customer inquiries
- Develops cost estimates according to established guidelines
- Sets product pricing using mark-up and commission schedules
- Determines and coordinates completion of needed drawings for quotation
- Writes, edits, and issues formal quotations to customer
- Follow-up on customer correspondence during quotation phase
- Visits customers post-proposal for discussion and negotiation
- Provide status reports to management on proposal status and activities
- Assist with creation and modification of sales presentations using Microsoft Office tools
- Works with management on skill improvement and knowledge development
Requirements For Applications Engineer
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or related field)
- 5+ years of industry experience (sales and/or industry experience)
