Principal Software Engineer - Zero Trust Network Segmentation

Zscaler, the world's largest cloud security platform provider, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their Zero Trust Network Segmentation team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing the architecture for Security Service Edge (SSE) and Zero Trust Security Services. You'll work on improving scalability and reliability of existing systems, leading the transition to a modern microservices-based architecture. As a technical advisor to the engineering executive leadership, you'll influence strategic technical decisions across the organization.

The position requires expertise in distributed systems, security services, and cloud environments. You'll collaborate with internal teams, guide engineers, work with Product Managers on roadmap execution, and partner with technology partners to bring solutions to market. Your work will directly impact the security infrastructure serving millions of users across 185 countries.

Key responsibilities include building scalable security services, architecting distributed database systems, researching innovative security solutions, and providing technical leadership. The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of software engineering experience, strong networking knowledge, and expertise in security protocols and microservice architectures.
