Process

It was fairly simple. I cleared all the rounds: a few telephonic discussions, then Technical Round 1, Technical Round 2, then the managerial round.

The manager came on the call after multiple reschedules. The interview did not even last for 10 minutes. I joined at 4:34 and the interview ended at 4:42. He asked me 2 questions on my past experiences. I answered and also explained about my typical responsibilities about my current role. After just that, he said he was done from his side and hung up. He did not even ask if I had any questions for them. Basically, he did not even try to get to know the candidate and about his behavior and technical capabilities.

I mean, that is the exact point of keeping the managerial round (in case you do not know).

From the beginning of the call, he looked and sounded somewhat disinterested in taking an interview. Not to overlook the fact that the interview was rescheduled multiple times.

Then the next day, they said in the email: "We are no longer hiring for the role I applied."

You realize this after Round 2 technicals? Or were you particularly interested in wasting my time?

Your manager sounded as if he was forced to sit on the call to interview. Rude and cold.

Now I am glad I was not selected because I would refrain from working in such a culture.

Despite the candidate's technical abilities, they failed to recognize the appropriate candidate's broken hiring process and wanted me to join with a pay cut. And that too, I agreed because their slab for senior analyst wouldn't allow them to match my base pay. I agreed because I needed one job.

All these rounds till the manager round just to waste my time. Worst experience.

If you were not sure that you were not looking for skills but numbers, you should have been clear right from the beginning and stopped the application right then and there. Why do you waste someone's time?

Good for the company if they focus on numbers. Actually, it is also great for good candidates and talents that they do not end up in this place.
